드라마는 그때 그때의 시대상을 반영한다

6월 12일에 첫 방송을 시작한 The Protector는

싱글맘 + 형사의 이야기를 그리고 있다.

지금까지의 수사물 드라마는 피도 눈물도 없는

차가운 형사의 모습 (CSI 의 Horatio와 같은)이었다면,

이 싱글맘 형사의 모습은 가정적이면서도, 날카롭다.

아이를 기르면서, 그리고 또 동시에 일선에서 형사를 하면서

가정과 직장의 균형을 맞추는 모습을 본다.

여형사가 있다면 남자 동료가 있을 법 하지만,

그 동료도 여자이다.

기존의 드라마가, 특히 형사물에서 여자 주인공이 드물었던 것을 생각하면

색다른 느낌을 주는 수사 드라마가 되지 않을까 기대한다.
