[비공개] "프랑스 대선을 보며"

이번 대한민국의 대선을 보면서

양심과 소신에 따라 투표할 수 있는

선진화된 민주주의가 실현가능한지 궁금해졌다.

정의당에 표를 주건, 바른정당에 표를 주건,

왜 투표에 있어서 '나'가 아닌 '우리'가 강조되는지 모르겠다.

누구나 가지고 있는 표는 1개에 불과한데.

개인을 집단의 기준에 맞추는 것이

오랫동안 미덕으로 여겨져서 그런가.

그나마 이번 프랑스 대선에서 볼 수 있었던

결선투표제가 한국에 적용이 된다면

소신 투표가 가능할 수 있겠다라는 생각도 들었다.

최근에 문재인 후보를 지지하는

한 블로거의 포스팅을 본 적이 있는데

소신 투표하는 사람들은 문재인이 당선이 되면

억울한 죽음을 당하더라도

당신은 아무 말 마십시오라는 글을 봤다.

그리고 이 사람들은 문재인 후보의 압도적인 당선을 원했다.

그래서 문주주의라는 말이 나온다고 본다.

그리고 난 이들이 겁난다. 박사모와 다를바 없기 때문이다.

그가 다스리는 동안 정의가 꽃을 피우게 해주시고

저 달이 다 닳도록 평화가 넘치게 해주십시오

시편 72장 7절

이 말씀을 문재인 후보에게 바친다고 했다.

우리는 왕을 뽑는 것도 아닌데.

신도 아니고 말야.

민주주의를 국민이 두려워 하는 것이 아닌

정치를 하는 사람들이 두려워 해야 하는데.

후진적인 민주주의의 모습이

이번 선거에서도 계속해서 보인다.

친할아버지는 옛날 DJ시절에 더불어민주당의 뿌리 격인

평화민주당 소속 의원이셨다.

그리고 당내에서의 배신으로 감옥에 수감되신 적도 있다.

이는 할아버지가 보수로 돌아오게 된

여러 계기 중 하나가 되었고.

가족 모두가 보수가 지키고자 하는 가치에 모두 공감을 했다.

물론 이번에는 보수표가 여럿으로 갈리게 되면서

각자 다르게 투표를 하지만.

오늘 고려대 앞에서 유승민 후보의 유세에서

유승민 후보가 규정하는 보수는 다음과 같았다.

"제가 생각하는 보수는 지키는 것이라고 생각해요.

(중략) 보수라는 것은 기본적으로 사람은 불완전하고,

우리 생각이 완전하지 못하기 때문에

과거 우리가 지켰던 것들 중에 좋은 전통;

민주주의, 공화주의,

이런 좋은 전통은 지키자는 것이 보수라고 생각하는데,

(중략) 보수가 바뀌면 대한민국이 바뀐다"

이번 바른 정당 집단 탈당 사태도 그렇고,

할아버지가 겪으셨던 일도 그렇고,

정치판에서는 배신이 너무나도 흔한 일이라

그런 일을 겪고도 흔들림 없이 뚜벅뚜벅 걸어갈 수 있는

소신있는 후보에게 내일 나의 소신이 담긴 한표를 줄 생각이다.

As I was watching the upcoming presidential election in South Korea,

It was quite clear that election in Korea, or the current form of democracy

is hindrance to the voters which makes them vote

against their personal and political belief and conviction.

I wondered if advanced form of democracy is ever possible in Korea.

Despite the fact that everyone has 'A Vote' to give to either Progressive or Conservative Party,

there are some people who stress 'WE' than 'ME' in current election.

I can only assume that it is because of Korean culture

that regards a virtue for individuals to match the standards of a group.

However, from the Two-round Electoral System

which enabled Macron of Le Manche! become president,

I thought that this system could be the solution to what Korea faces.

Recently, I read a posting from a political blogger

who supports candidate Moon Jae-in: the progressive,

currently polling at around 40% of the electorate and have a high chance of winning this election.

The blogger spoke directly to those who votes based on their personal belief

to not say a word nor complaint when they receive unfair treatment in the new government to come.

The supporters of candidate MOON wants emphatic victory for this election.

And this frightens me since it does not differ from the previous government

under impeached president Park Geun-hye.

The worries of conservatives from the recent progress of MOON resulted in

creating a new term 'deMOONcracy'

Moreover, some are deifying the candidate by quoting the verse from the Bible.

In his days may the righteous flourish, and peace abound,

till the moon be no more! (Psalms 72:7)

My grandfather used to be a member of Progressive party back in 60's

until he was betrayed from his own people in the party and served his time in prison.

This betrayal turned by grandfather into conservative and our family have always agreed on this view.

Today, the presidential candidate of Bareun party; centre-right political party

Yoo Seung-min expressed his thoughts on the values of conservative.

"Conservatives is about guarding the values of the past,

Democracy, Republicanism and such.

When conservatives change, Korea can change."

Betrayal is a common thing in the politics.

Tomorrow is the election day and I am going to give my vote to someone

who so far have shown strong will and conviction

despite the betrayal and carried on to protect what was valuable like my grandfather did.

This is my belief.
